Organic Skin Care and Clothing Trial

Ruby Pinwheels, a company offering select organic children’s clothing and natural skin-care products, recently launched a new program, Ruby Go Round, designed to gather and share parent feedback on organic products. Ruby Pinwheels specializes in children’s products that are healthy, eco-conscious and made under fair-trade conditions.
Originally announced in September on the Ruby Pinwheels Web site, GreenMommyGuide.com and a well-read blog “Now Entering Mommyville,” Ruby Go Round provides interested parents the opportunity to participate in evaluating organic clothing and skin-care products at no cost to the parents.
“The response we’ve received has been tremendous,” says Ruby Pinwheels Co-Founder Andre Greer. “We’ve been contacted from mothers all over the nation and have panel members from both coasts and several states throughout the Midwest. They all really want to make conscious decisions about what products are best for their children, and they want to learn from other parents’ experiences and share their own.”
Ruby Go Round participants are first asked to complete a short survey. Based on the interests and age of each panel member’s child, Ruby Pinwheels provides a product to each participant to evaluate - either organic clothing or skin-care items. Participants then have an opportunity to use each product and provide feedback on the item’s look and feel, value, and most importantly, how well it meets their child’s needs. Ruby Pinwheels then shares the results of each panel through its newsletter on the Ruby Go Round section of its Web site (Ruby Go Round Organic Product Feedback).
Heather Selwitz Briglia, a mother and participant in the first panel, says, “I try to make environmentally conscious decisions regarding my daughter’s toys, clothes and products. I think many parents like myself prefer to research a product and get opinions before spending their hard-earned money on something that may disappoint them. Healthy products are not always the most affordable, so trial and error is not always a possibility for many families. Ruby Go Round will help you get to the right product for you and your family much faster.” In initial the trial, Ms. Selwitz Briglia received shampoo and body wash to test.
Teresa Leighty, co-founder of Ruby Pinwheels, says, “This group is really important to us, because although we research and try products ourselves, nothing beats feedback from a group of moms with kids of all ages and needs.” Ms. Leighty goes on to say that they are now compiling the results from the first panel and have been thrilled with the insight and depth of the feedback received from the initial participants.
The interest in joining Ruby Go Round has been so great that Ruby Pinwheels has already closed its first panel and plans to start a second by year’s end.
