Cosmetics are a huge part of most people’s daily regimen and the public usually never thinks twice about the safety of them. The general public assumes that if cosmetics are available for sale, theyre safe to use, despite the unpronounceable ingredient lists. However, many of the most popular cosmetics on the market contain chemicals known as parabens and phthalates, which recent studies indicate may be linked to cancer development. Many diseases such as cancer, asthma, birth defects and learning disabilities are on the rise and there is growing evidence that these health problems are linked to the chemicals the public is exposed to in the cosmetic products. People can prevent or eliminate exposure to chemicals that scientists suspect or know are harmful to one’s body by using organic and natural skincare products.
Parabens are chemical preservatives that have been identified as estrogenic and disruptive of normal hormone function. (Estrogenic chemicals mimic the function of the naturally occurring hormone estrogen, and exposure to external estrogens has been shown to increase breast cancer.
Phthalates (pronounced THAL-ates) are known to cause a broad range of birth defects and lifelong reproductive impairments in laboratory animals that are exposed to these chemicals during pregnancy and after birth. Phthalates are also known to be hormone mimicking chemicals, many of which disrupt the normal hormonal processes, raising concern about their implications for increased breast cancer risk.
Cosmetic companies often argue that the public need not worry about harmful chemicals in their products because they are only used on the skin and hair. However, science is finding the timing of exposure is crucial, and that even a very small dose of some chemicals can have serious consequences in children and young women who are still developing. A common sense approach to chemicals in cosmetics says that we shouldnt tolerate acceptable levels of toxic poisons in our cosmetics, but rather turn to the abundance of natural and organic offerings, stated Karen Waters, CEO of Sublime Bliss. While exposure from one product on one day may be small, the fact is the public uses numerous products a day for extended periods of time. As such, scientists are finding chemicals such are parabens and phthalates accumulating in the human body in increasing numbers and percentages. The dangers posed by these chemicals can be eliminated by using natural and organic skincare products.

I’m a big skin care fanatic. I’m always on the look out for anything that helps me feel good about my skin and not feel like I need to cover up with foundations. As the years have been passing, I’ve gone from combating breakouts to fighting fine lines, pigmentations, and tone…
oh… and pores!
I thought I was pretty happy with other products I had had success with… but MADE FROM EARTH blew me away! I love their products! I sswweeaarrr my skin has toned up, evened out, and is super smooth. I feel great about the way my complexion looks with just some”Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer” and “the Green Tea Toxin Cleanser” . My skin looks natural, not all made up.
Nothing is perfumed which I like but I wouldn’t say any of these smell badly. The glass jar feels a little warm for a minute or two, and the green jar is a little tingly for a minute or two… I put this stuff on my face, neck, and breast bone. Great stuff!!
best skin care i’ve ever used… and, being 44, i’ve tried ‘em all! all natural, made onsite in small batches at the boutique in denver… amazing! fresh! www.moondancebotanicals.com.
