As the seasons change, our skin and hair can easily be over looked due to daily changes in our lives. Adding small hair and skin care changes to your daily routine, can easily be very beneficial. Plus, can give you great results to your hair and skin.
Here are some vitamins and helpful tips, for keeping your skin and hair healthy throughout the seasonal months.
Winter/Fall
During the winter/fall months, our skin can easily become dry and our hair can be prone for breakage. We must keep our hair and skin hydrated during these months with a hydrating moisturizer, a leave- in conditioner, or you can use olive oil or coconut oil as hot oil treatments for your hair and skin. Moisturizing, your hair and skin is very essential around this time of season. Also, wear a scarf, hat, or cap to protect your hair from the cold wind and limit your use of curling irons.
Vitamin C- Not only specializes in boosting your immune system, but this vitamin also acts an antioxidant. Which protects your body against disease and is vital for production of collagen, helps restore moisture to hair, and scalp circulation(Broccoli, kale, and strawberries are full of vitamin C).
Vitamin A- Helps prevent dryness, repairs tissues needed for growth and development, keeps skin elasticity, also produces healthy sebum in scalp (Milk, egg yolks, and tomatoes all provide vitamin A).
Vitamin E-Helps prevents and treats dry hair and skin and slows down cellular aging(green leafy vegetables and nuts are good sources of of vitamin E).
Spring/Summer
When the fall/ winter dissolves and spring/summer blossoms we have to create a balance, for our skin and hair with the appropriate amount of moisture. Its so often, that in spring/summer our hair can get frizzy, full of static, and sun bleached by the end of the summer. In the duration of these months , it is essential to adjust your hair and skin regimen so that you will be less prone for skin breakouts as well as limp hair. Instead of you using a heavy conditioner switch to a lighter conditioner, If you deep condition your hair once a week switch it to every other week. Clarifying shampoos, are really good for the spring/summer. It helps remove chlorine and help break down product build up. For skin, it is good to have a skin care regimen, and to exfoliate to get rid of dry dead skin cells. Using a lighter moisturizer will also help prevent future breakouts. Aloe vera, is a great healing plant to use a light moisturizer. It has many healing benefits to the skin, as well as maintaining hydration.
Vitamin B-6-Helps treat dermatitis as well as other skin eruptions and rashes (okra, spinach, and turnip greens all of good sources of vitamin B-6)
Biotin- Supports, Hair growth. A deficiency in biotin, may cause the hair to Become frail, unhealthy, and cause hair breakage (soybeans, green peas, walnuts and brown rice all have biotin in them).
Vitamins are good for the hair and skin. A deficiency of these vitamins can cause hair loss, and dry flaky skin. Too much of any vitamin, is not good for you and can cause hair loss, skin disorders, and toxins in the body. A balance of vitamins and water can create glowing skin and strong healthy hair.
