Nothing is as characteristically Memphis, as Blues & Barbecue and the famous Beale Street.
Graceland remains a top draw in Memphis. Take a tour here and walk through Elvis Presley’s mansion, see some of his favorite cars and even board his jet. In addition to learning about permanent cosmetics, it is a great time to learn how the “King” changed the way the world listens to music! Also, there are a number of music related museums such as the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, the Sun Studio group, and Memphis Rock ‘n Soul Museum! Beale Street is a must-see attraction for the music lovers. During the day, visit the W.C. Handy House & Museum or the Wither Collection Museum & Gallery. At night when the clubs come alive, music fills the 1.8 mile length of Beale Street. This is a music Mecca like no other! Make sure to stop by BB King’s Blues Club, the original Blues Club or the Rum Boogie Café.
Memphis is known for the best barbecue and ribs; do not miss the world famous Rendezvous restaurant. In addition to all the entertainment and good food, the SPCP will present a rock’n lineup of speakers and topics that are sure to be music to the ears! We will hear from a Memphis dermatologist about the Fitzpatrick skin types, how they affect permanent cosmetics, as well as other related skin issues. Many professionals deal with the body aches and pains of performing permanent cosmetics, and a medical professional is speaking about the science of Ergonomics and how it can help with injury prevention and pain relief. By popular demand, the SPCP is presenting two of the industry’s main procedures, lip procedures with tips on how to master technique, as well as how to create the perfect brow. As always, Train the Trainer will be offered along with the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard class. The CPCP exam will be offered as well.
