The 5 Hottest Makeup Trends for Fall 2011

1. You’ll Be Seeing Red!
Red lips were all over the runway in various tones and finishes. From matte, true reds to glossy deep scarlet, or burnt orange red and semi-glossy wine hues, red lips are the hottest trend this season. If you’re not a fan of the dramatic lip, rest assured there’s a fall lip color for you. Also spotted was a glossy peach toned lip, but if you’re going for a softer lip look, make sure to pair it with one of the smoky metallic eyes that are hot for autumn.
2. Dramatic, Edgy, Futuristic Eyes, OH MY!
Makeup for eyes this fall is dramatic and edgy with a futuristic vibe. Dark, spidery lashes are all the rage and look fantastic when accompanied by a gunmetal grey, navy, or golden bronze smoky eye. A super bold trend is silvery blue shadow on eyelids with a dark smudge of shadow underneath eyes or in outer corners for a ‘lived-in’ look.
3. The Cat’s Meow!
A gorgeous trend on the red carpet is a fresh take on the cat eye look: a downward sloping wing on the outer corners in lieu of the traditional cat eye which slants upwards.
4. You’ll Be Blushing!
Don’t forget to accent your cheeks with a flush of color and a shimmery highlighter – dewy, flushed cheeks and glowy cheekbones are the quickest way to perk up your face and look fresh this fall.
5. Freedom For Brows!
Finish any of these fall makeup options with a full, natural looking brow. Gone are the days of thin, over-plucked brows so give your tweezers a break and simply groom brows into place with a clean mascara wand and a touch of brow wax.
